Presented by: Lindsay Milbourne,
FOX 13 Meteorologist
All
things HURRICANE!!! What an exciting subject. It is that time of year...
again!
We always like to be prepared.
How in the world do those meteorologists know? Do they have a crystal ball?
Lindsay Milbourne, Fox 13 meteorologist will share some insight into the
mysterious field of hurricanes by addressing the following:
-
What are Florida's odds of being
impacted by a hurricane?
-
What weather patterns steer
hurricanes in our direction in Central Florida and the Bay area?
-
What ingredients do hurricanes
need to form and survive? Where do they typically form and in what months?
-
How do computer models help
scientists predict hurricanes?
Let's look back into our local
history. By knowing what has happened in this area in the past, we will
learn from it. Lindsay will guide us through that information and help us
understand:
And then we will check out
Lindsay's crystal ball (just kidding) and look into the future to see what
we can expect for the upcoming Hurricane season including:
-
Predictions for the 2012 season
