INVOLVEMENT
IN THE COMMUNITY: Be it involvement with students at local schools,
helping a Children's Home, recognizing our dedicated public safety officers,
helping wounded military, event participation for a worthy cause, or
promoting beautification of North Tampa; the Chamber offers its members the
opportunity to give back to the community. Special Activities such as
workshops, events and programs for the education of our youth and our
chamber members are ongoing to serve the members and the community.
Involvement in community projects remains a high priority of the Chamber.
Join us and help make our community a better place to live and thrive.
The
North Tampa Chamber sponsors and participates in many varied ongoing events
and programs throughout the year. Our membership's support for these events
are rooted deep in the traditions and purpose of the Chamber to serve, honor
and reward as many segments of the North Tampa community as we can.
OPERATION HELPING HAND:
The
North Tampa Chamber is partnering with the Military Officers Association of
America (MOAA). This is an initiative to give assistance and support to the
wounded and injured active duty, reserve and National Guard members of the
military and their families during a time that they are under much stress
and anxiety. The wounded are at the James A Haley Veterans Hospital. The
length of stay averages 45 days, but many are there 120 days or more. Most
of the families are from out of state. They receive assistance from the
armed forces, but it is not enough. Donations can be made at all chamber
meetings. Credit card payments are accepted at meetings or at the "pay
online" icon on our home page. Credit card payments are processed by the
chamber then a check is issued to Operation Helping Hand. Checks should be
made payable to Operation Helping Hand and sent to the chamber office. One
hundred percent of all donations go to Operation Helping Hand. The chamber
volunteers all processing time. For more information, visit the
Tampa Chapter of MOAA
website. |
